 The Walpole Police Department is located in the heart of Walpole Center, at 972 Main Street. We are currently housed in the "Old Town Hall", built in the early 1880's.
The department consists of 37 sworn law enforcement personnel, 25 of which are assigned to patrol. The remainder include the Command Staff, Supervisors and Detectives. The department also enlists the help of 6 civilian employees, filing the roles of dispatch, and an administrative assistant.
The department includes several specialized assignments, including Court Officer, School Resource Officer, Traffic Safety Officer and Motorcycle Patrol, among others. Many of the officers within the department also perform double-duty, and act as specialized officers for certain programs. They include certified child safety seat installers, domestic violence, accident reconstruction, R.A.D., crime prevention, search and rescue, computer crime, firearms instructor, vehicle safety, and much more.
