Walpole Police Patch

-History-

The Walpole Police Department patch depicts the Town Seal, along with the date of incorporation and the department name.  Prior to 1914, the seal was nothing more than the incorporation date.  Then, a contest was created in 1913, offering a prize of $25.00 for the best new design for a Town Seal.  On January 6, 1914, the Town awarded the prize to Miss Edna Buck of High Street, a High School student.  The design depicts the Neponset River and the "Old Saw Mill", the first building erected within the limits of what is now the town of Walpole.

-Patch Request Policy-

The Walpole Police Department is committed to providing the best possible policing services to the community.  While we attempt to honor the requests for specific enforcement and problem-solving issues, we can no longer honor the request for police patches.  While we recognize that "patch collecting" is a legitimate, interesting hobby, we can not possibly honor the dozens of requests we receive daily for our patches due to the time and costs involved.  Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

-Patch Trading-

In my travels while creating this page, I have stumbled across dozens of websites solely dedicated to this hobby.  A simple Google search for "police patch trading" spawns hundreds of reply's from websites where you can trade at your leisure.  Enjoy !!!
