Detective Rob Kilroy and Officer Andrew Kiewlicz serve as the department's Crime Prevention Officers. They have received extensive training to become certified in this specialized field. Our Crime Prevention Officers speak with a variety of community organization year round, offering safety tips and crime prevention ideas for parents and business owners alike. Our Crime Prevention Officers have gone to day care centers to talk about "stranger danger" and gone to youth programs to discuss bike safety.
These officers are a fantastic community resource. They can offer tips on how to avoid becoming the target of a scam and are up-to-date on all of the latest tricks the scam artists are using. They are very helpful in aiding the department in the distribution of information, helping the citizens of Walpole protect themselves.
Our Crime Prevention Officers can review the security of a business, and offer suggestions and ideas on how to tighten up the security. As an example of the services they can provide, the photo shows Deputy Chief Carmichael and Lieutenant Mackenzie meeting with a representative of the Adam's Farm Committee. Together, they patrolled around the property identifying problem areas and working to resolve the issues.
If you are interested in some of the knowledge and services these officers can provide, please call the Walpole Police Station at 508.668.1095 and ask for Lt. Mackenzie.
