Officer Rob Kilroy and Sergeant Chris Mackenzie serve as the department's Crime Prevention Officers. In 2011, they received extensive training to become certified in this specialized field. Our Crime Prevention Officers speak with a variety of community organization year round, offering safety tips and crime prevention ideas for parents and business owners alike.
They can offer tips on how to avoid becoming the target of a scam or fraud. They are up-to-date on all of the latest tricks the scam artists are using.
They can review the security of a business, and offer suggestions and ideas on how to tighten up the security. As an example of the services they can provide, the photo shows Deputy Chief Carmichael and Crime Prevention Officer Mackenzie meeting with a representative of the Adam's Farm Committee. Together, they patrolled around the property identifying problem areas and working to resolve the issues.
