Detective Division

The Walpole Police Department Detective Division is responsible for the follow-up, and investigation of serious crimes that occur in Walpole.  The Detective Division is led by Deputy Chief Bushway and Det. Sgt. Anderson.  It consists of a number of highly trained officers, specializing in such high level crimes as narcotics, sexual assault, and robbery/burglary.

Detective O'Connell has completed specialized training in sexual assault and child abuse, and continues to work closely with the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office and the Department of Social Services.  He has also received specialized training in homicide investigation and has been designated our suspicious death investigator.

Detective Bausch is the departments main drug investigator.  He has extensive training and experience in this area, and actively participates in a regional drug task force responsible for countless arrests.

Members of the Detective Division attend monthly area meetings.  It is here that they share information about local trends in criminal activity.  Through this network, they are able to learn a great deal about criminal activity in the area, and can offer some great information about what crimes are occurring, and how to prevent becoming a victim.

As members of the Detective Division become aware of criminal trends, this section of the website will grow to help keep the public well informed.
