The Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council has formed it's own Mobile Operations Patrol, a unit that consists of motorcycle officers from throughout the area. The mobile operations patrol is capable of performing many critical tasks during major events. Due to the fact that the unit is entirely made up of motorcycle units, they are able to maneuver more easily through congested areas, such as parades or large public events. In addition, the unit has been expertly trained in the escort of large convoys. For example, during the Democratic National Convention squads of Mobile Operations bikes were used to quickly and safely escort forces from one area to the next, enabling a quick response from law enforcement during the event.
The Mobile Operations Patrol (MOP) is capable of escorting large convoys of personnel through congested traffic areas. Situations like large funeral processions, parades or the escort of dignitaries are just a few of their functions.
