The Walpole Police Department has 2 Harley Davidson motorcycle units, which are used primarily as traffic enforcement vehicles.
The motorcycles are operated by our Motorcycle Unit, consisting of Officers Ryan, Carmichael and Koenig. The motorcycles are perfectly suited for traffic enforcement due to the fact that they are small, maneuverable, and can work in tight places, unlike your typical police cruiser. Not only that, but they have all of the safety equipment as any of our cars. Fully equipped with lights, sirens, radios and even radar units, these motorcycles are a great asset to the department.
Aside from traffic enforcement, the motorcycles are also used for ceremonial purposes, such as parades and funerals.
