Chief Richard Stillman has served the community with the Walpole Police Department since 1977, and as Chief of Police since 2002. Chief Stillman is the Commanding Officer of all of the Walpole Police forces, and has instilled a firm commitment to community policing throughout the department. Over the years, Chief Stillman has brought many new and fresh ideas to the department, to help it grow and adjust to the ever expanding Town of Walpole.

Chief Stillman is a proud member of the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association, an organization that has been a dedicated friend to the Jimmy Fund for more than 50 years, and has helped raise thousands of dollars to support their fight against cancer. Deputy Chief Bushway is the Executive Officer for the Walpole Police Department, and is charged with leading the department in the Chief's absence. In addition, Deputy Chief Bushway is the administrative supervisor of the department and assists the Chief of Police in budget preparation, as well as the day-to-day operations of the department. His responsibilities include the supervision of the Detective Division and is the head of the firearms licensing and sex offender registry programs.
Lt. Leland is the Commander of the Patrol Division, and oversees all of the training, equipping and scheduling of our officers. In addition, Lt. Leland specializes in critical incident command, deadly force and firearms training. He has received extensive training in critical incident response and is a graduate of the FBI Academy. Lt. Leland sees to it that all our officers are fully equipped and trained, and works hard to ensure that all officers are fully up-to-date on the latest officer safety issues.
Lt. Salzberg is the Commander of Special Services for the department. As such, Lt. Salzberg is the administrator and main contact for all special units within the department, including the Honor Guard and Bicycle Unit. He is also responsible for all special events, and is in charge of the organization and distribution of police forces during special events including; parades, carnivals, road races and the Fourth of July Celebration.
Judy Ryan is the lone person responsible for all administrative processes within the department. Ms. Ryan works closely with the Administrative Division in it's daily operation, and handles all of the work involved with payroll, overtime, report requests, purchasing and many, many other administrative needs required by officers, detectives and the administration alike.
