The Walpole Police Department is actively involved in dozens of community programs. Our officers hold training classes in various subjects, as well as informational seminars. SUNDAY MAY 6 1PM ROCKWOOD RUN BIRD PARK
This is an annual event in memory of Alan Rockwood, a former selectmen and a man who did a lot for his community. The race begins and ends at Bird Park, with events scheduled inside the park after the race. This is an excellent family event.
SATURDAY JUNE 9 9AM VILLAGE FAIR ROAD RACE
The Village Fair Road Race has been a longstanding tradition in Walpole for many years. After the race, the Village Fair will be held, and this is a great family event. Lots of activities for the kids.
TUESDAY JULY 3 6PM FIRE TRUCK PARADE
9PM FIREWORKS
Walpole’s biggest night, the Fire Truck parade goes off at 6pm, and starts on Washington Street by the old clock tower, and winds its way all the way to Walpole Center, onto Common Street and Ending on School Street. A reminder that the decibel level from the sirens is very high, ear protection may be necessary for small children.
TUESDAY JULY 10 CONCERTS ON COMMON BEGINS EVERY TUESDAY NIGHT FOR 8 WEEKS
Concerts on the Common continues its tradition beginning on July 10th and running every Tuesday night for eight weeks. Each week a different band will perform, this is a great night out with the family.
MONDAY SEPTEMBER 3 10AM WALPOLE ROAD RACE
One of the great 10K races in the state, the Walpole Road Race is a historical event that goes back some 30 years. A tough course, it also features a 5K in honor of “Walpole Ed” Damish. Starts and ends at WHS.
SATURDAY OCTOBER 27 10:30AM HALLOWEEN PARADE
500 people show up for this event, and the parade route goes right down Main Street. After the parade, the kids can go to different businesses in the center and Trick or Treat for goodies. This is a very popular event.
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 24 11AM SANTA CLAUS PARADE
This large parade starts at the Dunkin Donuts parking lot on Main Street and finishes on the Walpole Commons. Santa is welcomed by all, and his small house on the common is officially opened for wishes! Later that night (6:30pm) the tree lighting ceremony takes place, also located on the common. Both of these events are well attended, and would be great for small kids.
